When do I need to reserve my robe?

Graduands must complete your online robe hire reservation no later than 4 days before your conferring or graduation event

Academic Staff must complete your online robe hire reservation no later than two weeks before your conferring or graduation event


Where do I collect my robe?

On successfully reserving your robe you will receive an e-mail from us confirming your reservation and our location on campus to facilitate collection and return of all academicals


When do I collect my robe?

Usually collection is between 1-2 hours before your ceremony unless otherwise notified


Can I collect & return my robes at your Little Island location?

Please collect and return all academicals at our on campus location unless we have vacated this area


Can somebody else collect for me?

A family member or friend may collect once they can produce the correct booking reference on arrival to our campus location


Do I need my booking reference on collection?

Yes on successful completion of your booking, you will receive a confirmation e-mail as you will be asked to produce this as proof of purchase when you come to collect your robe on campus a printout or electronic version of this e-mail will suffice


What do I do if I do not receive an e-mail?

Firstly check your spam / junk mail folder as it may be there, once you enter a valid in use e-mail address you will receive an e-mail from us. It is important to use your main e-mail address.


What if I miss the booking deadline?

If you have missed the booking deadline don’t panic we can still try to facilitate a late booking please come to our onsite location at least one hour prior to your ceremony and we will endeavour to robe you. Please note the correct colours for your award may not be available for last minute bookings


What if I forget to book a hat?

You just need to ask on the day and you will be accommodated. The wearing of hats as part of conferring robes is entirely optional in University College Cork. The University directs students to decide on the wearing of the hat entirely as a matter of personal choice without prejudice


What if I chose the wrong height?

Do not contact us if you pick the incorrect size you can notify us of any changes when you are collecting your robe


What if you are closed when I return my robe?

If we are closed or have vacated our location it is your responsibility to contact us to make alternative arrangements for the safe return of all the Academicals hired from us


What if my course is not available when booking?

If your course option is not available please e-mail - info@mcginleygowns.ie and notify us of the issue and we will rectify for you
